About

My name is Norman Sander and I'm a Berlin-based musician and composer. My favorite instrument is the guitar, which I’ve played since the age of 13. I also like playing bass, keys, and using a drum computer to be able to write and record my songs.

When I was 14, my parents bought me my first electric guitar, which was around the same time that I grew to love musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Dire Straits. In my late teens, I also grew to love Dream Theater and Rush and I tried to include those musical influences in my work.

In my 20s, I was introduced to Porcupine Tree, The Cancer Conspiracy and Motorpsycho, three groups who also heavily influenced my style, as well as post rock band such as Tortoise, Mogwai, This Will Destroy You and Red Sparrowes.

Though I’m older now, I'm still really open-minded about music of all types. I still listen to polyrhythmic metal bands like Meshuggah, but at the same time I also love jazz musicians like Marcus Miller, John Scofield, and Pat Metheny, whose music is complex in its harmony. The world of music is great and discovering new artists and styles is a lifelong endeavor.

On this project I will concentrate on producing wide and open sounded shoegaze/post rock music. Feel free to contact me if you like my music. Thanks for your interest!
